Transrotor ZET 1: A Jewel of Analog Playback
O2A cables are manufactured in Liechtenstein and are the work of Anna Robathin. O2A has a wide range of cables, some of which have gained a solid reputation.
The Incline range - whose XLR modulation cable we used as a bridge for this test - is positioned between the more affordable and already successful Elegance series and the Quintessence series, with silver-plated copper conductors.
The Incline cables adopt pure copper conductors, and a set of mechanical, RF, radio, thermal and UV protections resulting in a good diameter (12 mm) cable with a woven sheath and 24k gold-plated copper banana connectors. This cable is a first step towards ultra high definition at an affordable price. On the drum excerpt, it seems that our speakers have gained in volume and depth. The drums reach levels that can be described as realistic (characteristic skin sounds). It is lively, spirited, fine, transparent, expressive with an almost holographic soundstage. From the soprano of the choir interpreting Monteverdi's madrigals, one can practically perceive the air filling her lungs before she climbs to the highest notes of the score.
Based on the same principle of multiple screens, the RCA cable requires some precautions; the different layers that make it up, if they lead to a first-rate sound result, make this cable very inflexible. Be careful, therefore, not to bend it in all directions. Apart from that, it is manufactured with extreme care and ends with screw-in RCA plugs.
In terms of listening, it is a perfect continuity, both with the speaker and with its XLR counterpart; O2A announces a bandwidth >30 MHz, and we really have the feeling of a cable that lets everything pass without interfering with anything, both tonally and dynamically. We find this live aspect in the percussion extract, and the tangle of voices in the Monteverdi choir
is confounding in its realism. The final test is the orchestra pit, which is teeming with micro-information. This is music without limits and in all its dimensions.
+ : A gateway to high definition.
- : The RCA cable requires a little attention.
