Transrotor vs Pro-Ject: Two Different Approaches to Vinyl – A Clear Conclusion
Gioulos Panayotis, the visionary mind behind Aktyna, once again sets new standards in acoustics.
Transrotor ZET 1: A Jewel of Analog Playback
Three questions drive a vinyl fan when it comes to the perfect cleaning of his treasures. First - will it get maximally clean? Second - does the magic work as effectively as possible? Thirdly - can I still listen to music on the side? Here comes the wonder, the Nessie Vinylmaster Reference. Inside the amazingly compact box are a body, all sorts of arms, a funnel and the cleaning fluid. That is the standard that many other manufacturers also meet. But the greatest utility: this cleaning machine cleans our
black treasures on both sides at the same time. Which simply doubles the speed. It takes a quarter of an hour to set up. First the banalities. We have to screw four feet to the underside. In the process, we also see the waste water channel: A small hose is held here by a magnet. We can easily take it off and remove the push-button, then the dirty water flows into the orcus. Then we insert two arms on the surface - one for the application of the cleaning liquid, and to the right of it the arm for the suction.
suction. The cleaning fluid there is poured into the internal container at the bottom left. In fact, the Vinylmaster Reference then functions as a stand-alone. The only thing it needs is a power cable.
Newly thought out
Now it gets exciting. The new Vinylmaster Reference replaces all its predecessors with a completely new response. For this, there is a small display on the right - and a light, small processor in the background. This controls the simple but effective processes. There are two sensors. One monitors whether we have enough cleaning fluid, the other whether our dirty water tank is at the limit.
Smart and effective
If I'm going to install a small computer, I might as well give it more work to do. For example, clear announcements to the vinyl collector. He puts the record on and weighs it down with a magnetic weight. Then the selection via the display. Do we want the fast automatic? Then the record rotates sometimes clockwise, sometimes counterclockwise, the liquid is applied, the velvet lips run over the vinyl. Then put on the right arm and vacuum. Smart and wonderfully effective.
If you want the ultimate cleaning, select the "intensive" cleaning mode. Then the entire cleaning process takes about ten minutes. But it is worth it. Not only does a veil of fine dust disappear, it is cleaned to the deepest depths. Even horrible remnants of wet records from the old days disappear.
Very important: the liquid supplied is gentle on the groove, there is no mechanical force. The manufacturer is also proud of the chemical composition. It does not use any evil alcohol.
It could seem to clean the groove more powerfully. But the aggressive carbon compound seeps into the other carbon, the vinyl - which can lead to a massacre of information. This is far more than just a philosophy among fan groups. Let's do the math
Everything could be so beautiful. But at one key point, the Vinylmaster Reference straddles our homage. It is expensive. The German manufacturer puts 2890 euros on its price list. Now we use the calculator. A good dealer in Germany should also have a record cleaner. Then he usually charges three euros for a wash. So with the Vinylmaster Reference I would have to clean 963.33 records from my collection to work off the investment sum.
It doesn't matter at all, a milkmaid's calculation - I'm a driven vinyl collector, I want this core product. That's how it goes for me. After Corona, the flea markets start again. I come across a rare fine pressing. But some schmuck has pulled the record out of the sleeve with his greasy fingers. No scratches, but just the stupid fingerprints. I buy the record and wash it with the Nessie. In a few minutes the Wert meiner Platte extrem gesteigert.
