What if high-fidelity sound were not just about buying a finished product, but about living an experience, understanding it, and shaping it with your own hands?
That is exactly what LiveHorn, a French manufacturer of high-end solid-wood loudspeakers, offers through a workshop format that is new and unique in France. Here, participants don’t simply discover Hi-Fi differently — they build their own acoustic speaker in a professional workshop, combining acoustics, fine woodworking, and the pleasure of listening. A rare, sincere, and deeply human approach.

Behind LiveHorn is Michel Pesquet, a cabinetmaker and passionate audio enthusiast. After nearly twenty years working in research and education, he chose to focus on a project that brings together what has always driven him: scientific rigor, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of natural, expressive sound.
Trained at École Centrale Paris, Michel developed an early interest in audio, building his own equipment from his teenage years onward. Over time, he deepened his knowledge of acoustics and electronics while refining his woodworking skills. This dual background is reflected in LiveHorn speakers, particularly through the use of horn-loaded designs, known for their dynamic and lifelike sound reproduction.
Founded in 2022, LiveHorn embodies a vision of sound that is technically demanding yet warm and resolutely artisanal. This approach has been recognized both by the specialist audio press (Diapason, Haute-Fidélité, Vinyle & Audio) and within the world of fine craftsmanship, with appearances at events such as the Révélations Biennale at the Grand Palais and Maison & Objet.

In partnership with Wecandoo, LiveHorn now offers several Hi-Fi speaker-building workshops, open to everyone — including those with no prior woodworking experience.
Registration is available via the Wecandoo platform:

What truly sets these workshops apart is their immersive nature. In a format unique in France, participants design and build a complete acoustic speaker, gaining a real understanding of technical choices, materials, and their impact on sound. Throughout the process, they are guided by a passionate craftsman who shares his experience and personal approach to listening.
At the end of the workshop, each participant leaves with their own solid-wood loudspeaker — a functional, beautiful object with real meaning.

The workshops take place in Michel’s workshop in Massy-Palaiseau, near Paris. Groups are intentionally limited to a maximum of four participants, ensuring personalized guidance and meaningful exchanges.
The content naturally adapts to each group:
some participants wish to deepen their understanding of Hi-Fi and acoustics,
others are mainly interested in woodworking and craftsmanship,
some already have experience, while others come simply out of curiosity.
Each session is therefore unique, shaped by dialogue, hands-on practice, and shared enthusiasm.

LiveHorn also offers bespoke workshops, based on a specific speaker model or design. An ideal option for those looking to take things further and bring a personal project to life in a truly artisanal setting.
