Gioulos Panayotis, the visionary mind behind Aktyna, once again sets new standards in acoustics.
Transrotor ZET 1: A Jewel of Analog Playback
The PHONO III is their solid-state phono preamp with an external power supply and an extruded aluminium housing that gives the unit an industrial look, complete with built-in cooling fins.
The shielded cord connects the external power supply to the preamp. The PHONO III has a thick polished front panel, engraved with the company logo and enhanced with a blue LED.
The PHONO III can be adjusted for a wide variety of MC or MM cells by simply removing the front plate and engaging the switches as specified in the user's manual. Once the unit is adjusted for your cartridge, you can plug in the PHONO III. This PHONO III preamplifier is very quiet and any noise between tracks is greatly reduced.
It has recreated the grandiose ambience of Chet Baker's album "At the Forum Theater" with precision and clarity. Baker's vibrant trumpet performance demonstrated the PHONO III's ability to effectively communicate the contrasts and dynamics of complex chords. Nina Simone and her Album "Don't Leave Me" were superb. A beautiful recording full of magic and emotion. The piano was intoxicating, while Nina's voice was rendered with great clarity. The PHONO III followed the intonations as never before.
It performs remarkably well when it comes to increasing detail and accurately reproducing musical scale and structure. The materials used in this product are all of high quality and the components are carefully selected to deliver quality sound.
The Transrotor has a clean appearance and simple design that highlights the sound quality of a German solid state phono stage. It is particularly suited to audiophiles who are looking for a certain reality in their recordings.
It also has a clarity and presence that brings out the music in the room without adding anything in the way of tonal nuances. What you hear is what you get - nothing more, nothing less - this is a very revealing, quiet and easy to use phono stage.
If you want more warmth and tonal richness, you can opt for an interconnect cable that gives more colour. In this way, you can retain all of the Transrotor's strengths while mitigating its weaknesses to a large extent. The Transrotor PHONO III is very musical, but with a fast and nervous side.
