Transrotor ZET 1: A Jewel of Analog Playback
Two years ago, Transrotor replaced the Jelco arms with REGA tone arms. Some customers have experienced hum problems with this new "uccelo cell and REGA arm" duo, the problem coming from the ground integrated into the REGA arm's phono cable.
We have given our customers some advice on how to solve this problem, which can be very annoying when listening. The most common solution is to add an electrical wire between the turntable chassis and the amplifier, which greatly reduces this hum, or even eliminates it in some cases, but not always.
Depending on the phono pre-amps, some Transrotor cells require an increase in gain, which also increases the hum phenomenon when it is already present. The solution was found by chance during a test with a Hana cell. We recently added the full range of Hana cells to our catalogue, and it was precisely during one of these tests with a Transrotor max, where this hum problem had been greatly reduced, that we observed that it disappeared completely as soon as a Hana cell was installed. One of the special features of Hana transducers, in addition to their very high listening quality, is the absence of noise.
- microline diamond (the same shape as the engraving chisel in the pressing die)
- cryogenic generator
- brass sole (more stable in the groove) And you can hear it, or rather you can't hear it, from the very first notes.
It's absolutely remarkable! It will be very difficult to go back because, in addition to the listening quality of the Hana cells, the almost instantaneous suppression of noise makes listening an absolutely magical experience, and I can't find enough superlatives to describe this experience, which was so conclusive on every level.
I strongly recommend that you try listening to Hana cells, both for the incomparable silence they offer and for the exceptional reproduction of harmonies!
