Danish design at CANVAS emphasizes creating a harmonious, functional living space where simplicity, natural elements, and minimalism align with superior audio quality. This design philosophy values clean lines, neutral color palettes, and the use of natural materials like wood and nature-inspired textiles, drawing from the concept of "hygge," which balances aesthetics and functionality while fostering a sense of comfort and well-being.
The CANVAS project was designed to integrate an audio system into televisions, both aesthetically and mechanically, while offering sound quality comparable to high-end hi-fi systems, particularly for ambient music. However, technical challenges arose, such as the insufficient distance between the left and right channels to create a true 3D stereo image, and the excessive amplification of bass frequencies caused by proximity to the wall.
Despite these challenges, the CANVAS team developed innovative technological solutions that overcame these limitations, transforming CANVAS into a true hi-fi system.
