The Volare is the basic model, equipped with a 9-inch arm. The Woodpecker has an adjustable arm base to accommodate a 12" arm. The Blackbird has two slots for the tone arm, adjustable to 10 inches, and two motors. Finally, the Firebird is the most sophisticated, with two tone arms adjustable up to 12 inches and a third motor. To take full advantage of these decks, it is advisable to upgrade the Linear power supply.
As a vinyl enthusiast, he has created a series of tools to configure this range of turntables in a very pragmatic way.
The choice of tone arms offered by Dr Feickert perfectly underlines the down-to-earth nature of these turntables. Whichever arm you wish to use, it will work with all models in the range. Current users mainly use Kuzma, Rega and Sorane arms.
On the two-motor models, the position of the motor is always consistent, but it is particularly clever when a second arm is present. The motors are located under the cartridge of both arms. The second motor acts as a flywheel for greater speed accuracy. Although the basic model is already very accurate and has a linear feed, the presence of two motors may be considered a luxury. However, it is actually a ground plate design.
