Livehorn Orion — Evolution 2026
Elegance and musicality without compromise
A loudspeaker turned acoustic sculpture
The Livehorn Orion embodies a radical vision of high-fidelity audio: a 3-way active floorstanding loudspeaker designed as a true acoustic art piece, far from industrial standards.
Entirely designed and handcrafted by Michel Pesquet in his workshop in Palaiseau (France), the Orion 2026 refines an already unique approach: transforming sound engineering into sculptural design.
The loudspeaker stands on an organic, elongated structure supported by three contact points with the floor, giving it a strong architectural presence.
Made from multilayer beech wood combined with black-stained, oiled solid beech, each unit expresses both warmth and contemporary elegance.
Each piece is individually numbered and delivered with an authenticity certificate from the Ateliers d’Art de France.
A reference 3-way active acoustic architecture
The Orion Evolution 2026 is based on a fully active digital design with absolute signal control.
Amplification and digital processing
Each loudspeaker integrates a complete system:
- Active DSP-based architecture
- Hypex N-CORE Class D amplification modules
- Total power: 600 W per speaker
- Bass: 250 W RMS
- Midrange: 250 W RMS
- Treble: 100 W RMS
FIR linear-phase filtering ensures exceptional time coherence and a highly stable stereo image.
Drivers: precision, coherence, and impact
Bass
- 1 × 23 cm Atohm woofer
- Sealed enclosure
- Downward radiation
- Up to 130 Hz
- Deep, fast, and tightly controlled bass
Midrange / High (D’Appolito configuration)
- 2 × 12 cm Kartesian midrange drivers
- 1 × 1-inch Kartesian compression driver
- Reinforced acrylic horn
- Controlled directivity and outstanding tonal coherence
This architecture delivers a dense, stable, and highly readable soundstage, especially for vocals and acoustic instruments.
Frequency response and advanced customization
The Orion delivers a wide and fully usable bandwidth:
- Frequency response: 25 Hz – 20 kHz
One of its key strengths is full acoustic programmability:
- Response curve adjustment via software
- Room adaptation
- Listener preference tuning
- Fine optimization without loss of resolution
This makes the system a truly adaptive acoustic instrument.
Full connectivity and flexibility
The Orion supports both digital and analog sources:
Digital inputs
- SPDIF (RCA)
- Toslink
- AES/EBU (XLR)
- Up to 24-bit / 192 kHz
Analog inputs
- Balanced XLR
- Integrated A/D conversion for DSP processing
This dual architecture allows seamless integration into any high-end system.
Listening experience and sonic signature
The Livehorn Orion stands out through exceptional resolution and a highly stable 3D soundstage.
Digital connection (SPDIF)
The presentation is extremely open, detailed, and dynamic.
In some cases, this transparency may feel very energetic, but it can be precisely tuned via internal software filtering.
High-end analog connection (XLR)
Despite A/D and D/A conversion, the result is outstanding: rich harmonics, impressive density, and remarkable spatial imaging.
With a high-quality source, Orion delivers natural, coherent, and deeply immersive sound reproduction.
Design, materials, and craftsmanship
The Orion is not just a loudspeaker — it is a sculptural object.

An assumed limitation
A deliberately unique and demanding product, designed for enthusiasts seeking sonic truth rather than mainstream compromise.
Livehorn Orion Evolution 2026 — hi-fi as a work of art
The Orion does not aim to impress. It aims to disappear into the music.
It embodies a rare idea: a loudspeaker where engineering, craftsmanship, and emotion become one.
