Then you'll love Sorane! The company, formerly known as ABIS, was established in 1974 and specialises in the design, development and manufacture of analogue audio equipment, cables and precision parts.

In 2011, Sorane integrated the techniques and technologies of the IKEDA Sound Labs brand, founded by Mr. Isamu Ikeda, a true pioneer in the Japanese analog world. Today, Sorane has become IKEDA Sound Labs, perpetuating the know-how passed on by Mr. Ikeda.

The components for the turntables and other accessories are machined from a solid block of aluminium, using a large fleet of machines. This technique ensures high quality for all products manufactured.


IKEDA Sound Labs develops and manufactures phono tone arms for 2 own brands (Sorane and Ikeda), 4 OEM brands and 3 ODM brands.

Sorane tone arms are handcrafted by trained and experienced craftsmen with great attention to detail.

The Sorane range offers three different tone arm models:

SA1.2, a "J" arm, TA-1, an "S" arm, and ZA-1, an "I" arm. Each meets the highest demands of the discerning audiophile or music lover. The name Sorane (宙音) means "spatial sound" or "sound space" in Japanese, and is pronounced "Sorane". It is available with three different types of mounts: a three-point mount (REGA type), a cylindrical mount (ClearAudio or Linn type) and a sliding plate (SME type).
