In 2002, Herr Feickert joined his friend Thomas Scheu in the world of analogue. Scheu, who had worked for many years to improve everything to do with vinyl, passed on his passion to Chris, who took over the marketing of his creations. Although Scheu's death was tragic, Chris chose to continue his work and eventually launched his own brand: Dr. Feickert Analogue in 2005. Among the many ideas that sprang up in Chris's creative mind, the first to emerge was the protractor, an ingenious tool that allows the angles of the cartridge to be precisely adjusted. This product was a great success and became a must-have for vinyl enthusiasts. But Chris didn't want to stop there, he went on to create the Twin turntable. This very solid turntable with a high-tech design has a sturdy platter on a base powered by an external motor. And to prevent all forms of sound impact from disrupting the listening experience, Chris incorporated a special mechanical anti-resonance circuit.
The Triple was even more impressive than its predecessor - and that was something to see!
Capable of handling three arms and powered by a variant of the Twin's motor, this turntable was designed to follow the trend of massive platforms found in most modern turntable catalogues. But Chris didn't stop there. He went on to design a more classic turntable, in the style of the great turntables of the past. This turntable was designed with a long, wide arm slot that could be moved to accept different arm lengths. Instead of an external motor, Chris devised an integral solution that would drive the platter with a flat belt. This design was no longer possible in a conventional design, so another solution was needed to perform the same function. Eventually, after much thought, Chris developed a sandwich construction that connects a solid block of MDF between two aluminium slabs. This construction became the basis for the next generations. Many of the elements from the earlier turntable models remain unchanged, such as the bearing and the platter made of polyoxymethylene, a plastic known as Delrin that copies the characteristics of vinyl. The first Feickert model to be released was the Woodpecker. This turntable, with a single motor and arm, was very well received. The Blackbird followed, with many of the same features as the Woodpecker, but with two motors and two arm slots, and the Volare model later completed the range. Dr. Feickert Analogue is now a leading brand in the analogue world, thanks to the passion and ingenuity of Chris Feickert.
