Audel U-Basik 5/8
Audel U-Basik 5/8
The first monitor between tradition and innovation
With the U-Basik model, we aimed to test our ability to compete with a segment that is highly present in the international high-end market. Under the pen of Walter Carzan, the traditional "monitor" concept was redesigned and reimagined with simple, effective gestures. The designer gave this model a strong identity and unique personality while maintaining a minimalist approach.
A Design Without Compromise
Our focus has been on high-quality premium components. In collaboration with the Danish company SB Acoustics, we selected a 5-inch woofer with a thick aluminum basket to optimize strength and rigidity. This speaker, made with a non-conductive fiberglass voice coil, delivers generous bass reproduction. The tweeter is a 29 mm model with an aluminum faceplate. The first-order crossover, true to Audel's tradition, ensures tonal coherence comparable to our most expensive models.
IRS evo (Internal Ribs System)
Continuously seeking excellence, we have enhanced our technology with the new "ribs" assembly system, which guarantees superior mechanical rigidity. The alternating thicknesses act as bracing, and the resulting channels allow for optimal placement of the sound-absorbing material, preventing the formation of standing waves inside the cabinet. The speakers are mounted on a 30 mm plywood panel, and the separation of the two blocks, fixed with screws and spaced by an HPL sheet, ensures long-term stability of the birch plywood.
U-Basik 5/8: Versatility and Performance
The U-Basik 5/8 was designed to appeal to a discerning audience who enjoy a variety of musical genres. Despite its compact size, it offers a wide and precise frequency response. The bass is deep and fast, while the midrange and treble are precise and never fatiguing. In rooms smaller than 25 square meters, the U-Basik perfectly meets expectations, especially for acoustic, jazz, and vocal music. Its tonal balance and wide, focused soundstage make it a true success. U-Basik represents a new Audel excellence with an outstanding price-to-performance ratio.
Secure Mounting for Optimal Use
All Audel products come with a base and a fixing screw. The rear spike is replaced with an anti-vibration screw that slides on a rail in the base. This way, if the speaker is accidentally bumped, it generally remains attached to the rear screw. However, a strong lateral push could still cause the tripod to tip over.
