Cartridge transrotor Merlo Référence
The MC Transrotor Merlo Reference is based on the Goldring "Elite" system. This famous
Moving Coil Evergreen has a very rigid housing made of a material called Pocan®.
The Merlo reference cell case houses a low mass armature wound symmetrically with silver wire coils.
On the needle is normally a Gyger-S cut diamond. Transrotor replaces this diamond with a harmonic-cut type, which results in a very high scanning capacity of 80 micrometers.
This should ensure that when diving deep, every bit of information is truly extracted from the groove of the vinyl record.
Transrotor's MC Merlo Reference cartridge is a true value-for-money piece of work.
Superb sound colours, authentic and subtle at the same time, it combines characteristics rarely found in this price range and at this quality.
Another strong point of this Transrotor cell is its great speed. It seemed to be able to pull all the available information into the groove, immediately and without delay, while showing an exceptional sense of rhythm.
Superb and authentic sound colours were added almost as a by-product.
The less intrusive nature of the Merlo Reference is much more suitable for extended listening and allows for even more relaxed continuous listening.
